Make it MAke Sense.

Where the funding goes makes a world of difference

If we know the best predictor of a state’s peacefulness is how well its women are treated, then we know where we can work towards that in tackling these and more:

  • Women grow up to 80% of the food in farming communities across the global south, yet only 15% of landholders are women.
  • If women farmers had the same access to resources as men, their yields could rise by 20–30% potentially reducing the number of hungry people by up to 150 million.
  • Even one more year of schooling can increase her future earnings by up to 20%.
  • Women make up almost 70% of global healthcare workers but earn around a quarter less than their male colleagues.
  • Despite women being responsible for 90% of preparing and buying food, they are eating last and least whenever there is food insecurity.

That Math Ain’t Mathing

Thank you for joining CARE Canada in advancing gender equality and fighting poverty around the world.

The solutions are happening, it’s just a matter of resources

When we support women and girls, entire communities thrive

For more than 80 years, CARE has been tackling the root causes, not only the symptoms, of poverty by advancing gender equality around the globe.

Our projects focus on long-term change: preventing gender-based violence, increasing women’s access to economic resources, working with entire communities—including men and boys—to shift narratives and advocate for concrete policy changes.

In 2025 alone, CARE Canada reached 1.6 million people (70% of participants were women) across 50 projects in 35 countries.

Our work is driven by evidence and fueled by real, tangible solutions. And now, you’re a part of it.

You’re a part of the movement. Here’s what to expect.
